Title: Brake/signal Switch Relay
Post by: Chris on April 23, 2006, 07:59:58 PM
Im trying to figure out the best option for my situation. I have snowflake taillights and it shares the bulb for the brake and signal. So I need a relay to connect the brake and signal circuit up. Looking at the diagrams the 61 turn signal on the column did all the bypasses for the brake and signal lights, but the switch I have is from a 65, so is there a choice relay that can be purchased for this that is a standard component in VW ?? Or do I need to get the switch from the 61 or buy a hot rod box? This is the last dilemna for my wiring. Everything else is pretty much done.

Thanks.

dont know if you got this figured out or not.. but ill post anyways
so if im not mistaken this is your situation
you have seperate brake/tail light circutes, and you have shared bulbs.  what you need is something like this http://shop.easternmarine.com/index.cfm?fu...&categoryID=209 (http://shop.easternmarine.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=catalog.prodInfo&productID=4992&categoryID=209)  that will convert the 5 wire (left turn, right turn, brake, tail, ground) to 4 wire (left/brake, right/brake, tail, ground) and enable you to have what you're looking for
