Sold my 1965 beetle a few years ago which had only 16,000 original miles on it. It was in amazing shape, all OG paint (very patina'd) and interior (the seats still had the plastic on them) It had been sitting since the 1970's in vancouver, oakridge mall area.
It went to a guy who lived on the island, Duncan area I believe and he owned a landscaping company. He was going to put a big turbo engine in it and clear the body. I believe his name was James or Jamie or something along those lines.
I believe he already had the pan stripped down and powder coated last I talked to him about 5 years ago. The car also had a gas heater in it and needed NO rust repair. Still had the original VW Canada tires on it!
Wanted to find the car!
Any leads would be great, thanks!

That's got Johnny Main written all over it.

No, it wasn't Johnny or anyone really in the "scene". I did sell johnny the flat 4 fuchs that were going to be used for that car which I believe he painted and are now on his black patina'd oval..?? but I could be wrong.
The guy came over with a big 1 ton truck with landscaping decals all over the outside and a bobcat trailer which the beetle was loaded onto. Maybe his name was Dylan...ahh, something like that.
I'll dig up some pictures of the car tonight.

Yah, definitely!
He contacted me VIA craigslist, so he's most likely not on this forum. But i thought someone might know of him or the car!

That was a really good one. Reminds me of all the ACVWs I've passed on over the years. Would love to find my 58 beetle that I sold you!!!
I think the one I really wish I could have purchased was the dove blue 59 single cab in burnaby with the forsale sign of $900.00
But ofcourse there were countless others, low light ghias, T34, 21 window, ovals. Coincidently all in burnaby/new west.
But that 58 beetle, that would be ok, in any condition

I was thinking about this car again today.
Curious if it’s still out there...
