Places To Ride In Bc
« on: January 08, 2008, 05:21:47 PM »
Hey guys,
I'm new to the forum, thanks to a local guy who told me about this site after having bought some parts off me. I don't really know of too many places to ride here in BC, so I thought it would be a good idea if everyone were to post up where they go riding locally. (Preferably somewhere where the cops won't give you trouble).

The only places that I know of are the Foley Lake service road up in Chilliwack Lake, and another spot behind the Plateau Golf course in Coquitlam by all the power lines (Never been there personally).

Well, Let's hear them

Actually, I am on a dune buggy, I just don't know of any other good places to ride...
My Dune Buggy is just on a tube chassis, and it's not all that big so I can fit in a lot of tight places.

Would be interested in hearing about more areas on chilliwack lake

If you guys know of any other places to ride (dune buggy or not), post them up

If you want to go in nanaimo theres a moto-x track on Doumont road and if you go down to the end of the road theres a gravel road and it hooks into a whole bunch of other logging roads and theres a lake called boomerang lake I have riddend dirtbikes to boomerang but not from doumont. Theres also alot of bike trails there too.

OK so up Foley Lake service road theres a few places when you turn off Chilliwack Lake rd. and cross the bridge you can turn left and start going up the mountain if you stay down by the river the road will take you to some camp grounds along side of the river but the road that goes up the mountain will take you up to the back of Cheam mountain and to the saddle up were the parigliders take off. Now if you go alittle more up the road to the lake theres more roads up the side of the lake and again up into the mountains, theres also sleepy hollow up at Cultus Lake and theres also Vedder mountain theres a few up there azwell theres Jones lake and Peg leg on the Frasier River, both sides of the Harrison Lake to there is alot more I just haven't bin wheeling in years so I can't remeber them all you can also go to Forestry and ask for maps of were you want to go.

I like goin to stave lake area. It's close & theres a varity of stuff there, mud flats ,mountian trails, hill climbs,or an incredible view at the top . It does get a little crazy at " redneck flats "on the weekend!     peg leg is also fun when the water is low as is herling island.also chelis, norris, end of salvester rd in mission(bunch of lakes there)! I could go on ,the lower mainland has lots to offer

Sounds Crazy
I was going to go out to Stave lake last summer, but I didn't trust my dune buggy enough (it tends to overreact sometimes when we go offroading).

its just mud flats so it wouldnt be anything difficult to let it cool down and watch the rednecks break their trucks or to get your truck over to it and load it up. just hold up your rope and someone will give you a tow

Yeah, hopefully I'll head up to Stave this year. It would also have to be fairly dry out, tube frames (no fiberglass or body panels) and mud don't mix  :!:

Go the map book called "backroad map book" walmart and places like that carry it. It shows all the fire service roads and logging roads. Worth every penny. Try the West or East harrison thats my favorite place to explore.
