Engine Hacking
« on: July 06, 2003, 01:43:08 PM »
I have recently installed a 1600DP in my '63. The engine has been timed and the valves set, yet it still coughs and hacks a bit. My question, could this be from the old gas in my car? It's about a 1 1/2 years old?

It could verywell be bad gas. Is this motor a stock 1600 cc with 34 pict carb? if so do you have a 009 distriubutor (mechanical advance on it?) The 009 seems to bog with the stock carb and can be hard to tune the bog out.

Thanks,  That's exactly what I have! I'll try replacing the gas first. Is this a good excuse to build a huge new motor??

Is (or does) airspeed going carry normal stock parts, brake lines and stuff like that?
