There is not enough room to make it appear stock from the outside. Many people have done the conversion before and have used stock beetle trans, 901 porsche and 915 porsche trans. The 915 is a better trans but will need more clearancing to make it fit as will the removal of the rear apron to make room for the engine.

There are so many things that make the instal a bitch, You can make just as much HP with a T1 motor with less hassel and still look cool. A nice porsche shroud on a 2.0L looks killer.

Thats my .02$

OK but if  you want to be different and use a 6 cylinder

Move the engine and tranny forward 4.5 inches and then use the fuel injected apron to help hide the muffler.

You had better be good at making  custom 1 off stuff.... Or be prepared to shell out $4000.00 + for some-one else to make parts for you.

You still need to buy the engine and tranny.

OR

Put a Porshe 2.0 in your car like mine... :o  and wish you had used the T1 instead......  You can buy my 2.0 for $4000.00... I'll even give you a ride in my car so you can feel the torque of the power before you buy.
