The Ideal Bus Engine

hi  i was just wondering what everyone's take on what teh ideal size engine is for a type II baywindow? some say 1776  others 1914, there is also the 2110 or then you get in to the 911 motors. i was just wondering  for a guy who just wants to have an engine that will be some what reliable.Fairly low buget but still not cutting corners and has alot of throttle response if you know what i mean . It is a bus so i know there are limits .  It is for an everyday driver  So i know that i can't go to big.  So what is your 2 cents?

A 1776 just may be good enough for you but a 1914 with mild compresion and a engle 100 cam would work great!

I have a 1641 engine all ready to go with lots of stuff done to it ..... :D

78 x 90.5 = 2007

If you can find all the stock VW parts to put a nice 2L T4 into your early bay, that would be a decent way to go also.

it is going into an early bay   and should any traniy work be done like gearing?  :rockon:  :mullet:
