Coil Terminals
« on: April 22, 2006, 11:23:56 PM »
finally got my motor in, just needs a few more things
here's a picture

i know this is a lame question, i feel like a dork for asking it, but i'd rather get it straight from the horses mouth so to speak than dick around and second guess myself over and over again

what wires connect to what terminal of the coil?
right now i've got a power wire (marked negative), emergency backup lights, and a spliced wire of both choke and carb pre-heater going to negative, and a positive marked power wire and distributer wire going to the positive
is this correct?
it's a '71 1600DP motor in a former fuel injection super beetle

any help'd be great guys, thanks

The wire from the distributor (usually green) goes to terminal #1 or - , Black ign. wire from firewall, BU lights and choke/ cutoff valve wire go to #15 or +. If you are running a tach it goes on the - term.
