hey guys, anybody know anything about paint restoration?? im going to be match painting my 63 soon so i thought id get this all sorted now. my hood and decklid are going to be painted to the original L390 gulf blue, but here lies the prob, the old paint is reeeeally faded, does anybody have any tips for getting back its sheen? or can someone direct me towards someone who can do it for me?? i wanna make it look at close as possible so its nice an puuuuurdy :D

Polish it. IMO, Autoglym has some of the nicest polishes available. I usually buy from the rep that comes around work but I think KMS tools carries it. Autoglym O3B to start and a swirl remover to finish. hope that helps.

Invest in a machine. You could probably find one at princess auto for under $50.00. Just make sure the rpm's are low or it has adjustable throttle control. it would be well worth it.
