You know that mid 60-67 trucks use a common bus bumper, right? ;)

Not if it's still got 58 lower corners on it, VW changed the shape of the corners a little in mid 60 to use a single bumper style, if they've been replaced a later one may fit. Early rounded (59-mid60) bumpers were ground out by VW in the corners to clear IIRC.

So are you looking for the correct pressed bumper or the 59 up rounded style?

looking for a bumper that wont cost a fortune, so thinking a blade style wound be cheaper than ribbed, was maybe looking into fiberglass but i like metal better.

Just get one of these, then you wont have to worry about the corners, no one will be able to see them

Busdaddy so your aware the single cab bumpers aren't universal with bus from 60 up as my 61 was single cab only with squared corners

News to me but anythings possible, could have been VW using up extra stock. Shure the truck was actually built for 61?, I've got a late 60 that's been registered as a 62 from day one, maybe it was a dealer truck or demo, don't know.
I do know that VW changed the corners to accomodate the bus bumper in mid 60, what they or a PO bolted on after is anyones guess. There was a time when wrecking yards were infested with those things and a primo bumper off an earlier donor would have been just the ticket before Dad got home and found out you were driving his new truck and bent the bumper ;)
