Title: Am I asking for trouble?
Post by: Johanness on May 24, 2016, 04:39:48 PM
Hi all.

I have a wanted ad in the classified section looking for a decent notchback to start my next project.

However doing a bit more research online, am I asking for trouble trying to put some decent hp #'s in this type?  I've seen the following:

http://www.aircooled.net/2275cc-engine-combo-l5-heads-requires-1-58-exhaust-2-44mm-carburetors/ (http://www.aircooled.net/2275cc-engine-combo-l5-heads-requires-1-58-exhaust-2-44mm-carburetors/)
and
http://www.gex.com/06tk2110t3.htm (http://www.gex.com/06tk2110t3.htm)

Is there any way to mitigate the higher temps I'm imagining is going to be an issue?

Anyone who's been down this road, any advice is appreciated.

(FYI, I came out of a turbo'd injected built 1915 in a 62 bug previous)

Thanks!

Read the feedback on GEX. Then decide.

I have no experience with notch's but I think if you ran an external oil cooler/fan it would bring the temps down
