Title: 73 bus power brake booster vaccum
Post by: Anovib on October 08, 2016, 06:29:38 AM
I've looked everywhere but cannot find any information so I thought I'd ask here.  There are two vacuum connections on the power break booster one goes to the engine the other goes to A connection that goes through the driver side wheel well to destinations unknown.

Can anyone help me solve this mystery and its significance

The fitting on the pushrod is the atmospheric vent, vacuum is constantly stored in the booster on both sides of the diaphragm, when you push the pedal air is allowed into the front side through that vent and since the other side still has vacuum it pushes on the diapragm. Most cars just have holes in the boot and a felt filter since the pushrod end of the booster is mounted inside under the dash, on a bus it's down in the dust and road splashiness so it needs a hose that leads to somewhere with clean air to suck.

Changing out servo today almost back together but discovered brake pedal pushrod threads stripped out and bent   Been looking online with no luck for a new one.
anybody have any ideas on who sells the orginal or aftermarket brake pedal connecting rod
