After years of running our buggy in the sand with a rusty and mangled pan , it is finally time for a new pan.
We started with two pans , an irs rear half and a link pin front half and new pan halves all cut 15 1/2 "

You can build me one next! Mine needs a new one too.
-
Ha Ha .. It will be a miracle if I can finish this one
-
Is that the IRS pan you bought from me for a case of beer? :singing:
-
no this pan used to be my 72 super beetle . But parts of your pan are still around here ...........some where......

Ha Ha .. It will be a miracle if I can finish this one
Damn well better be finished!!
31 days left get on it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So we're making some progress . Got the front and rear suspensions together , basically just stock stuff here
with an adjustable front beam but all set at approx stock height. With the light weight it ends up a little raised .
just about ready for the body. No front brakes again(for now) but I will now have front shocks which will be some
old used stock oil shocks . Rear shocks will be kyb gas-a-just.

Hey Hans
Looks good. I recognize the green parts on your buggy. Reduce re use recycle. I'm still trying to fig out my front shocks?
20 days left!
-
Yes many thanks for the left over parts Gary. This buggy is full of hand me downs , donated and borrowed parts and a lot of helping hands too.
-
Had to dig the buggy out of the snow to get it on to the new pan.

This last saturday was a total down poor all day but we are heading to the dunes in less than a week
so we had get to work. We set up the canopy on the driveway (because there's no room to work in the garage)
and spent the whole day finishing up the buggy just enough to run it on the dunes.
we do now have turn brakes
