to get the most out of the sub, you need to know how many cubic feet those particular subs call for.

To port or not to port ? I personally prefer a ported box for subs , but it depends on personal preference . In my 94 Chrysler LHS I am running 2 12 " subs in a slot ported box , it flat out pounds . In my Beetle I run a single 8" sub in a ported box , it is far more musical and punchy than the 2 12s . Sealed enclosures just don't have that same sound in my opinion , they seem a little flat to me . Try checking out the12volt.com , there are tons of guys on there who can help you find the specs for those subs , as well as give some input on what might sound better .
Again , it really comes down to what sounds best to you . Go to some audio shops and "audition " 10s in ported boxes as well as sealed , and see if you can get an ear for what you like best .
