rear engine support ?

aye fellow air speeders, i installed a hideaway muffler on my bug this past week but this engine support was in the way. (the one closet to the header,square tube)


not my car just used a photo off the internet. anyways that square tube was in the way.
question is it necessary to have that ? thanks jay

If you drive as if you have your grandmother with you, you don't need the support bar.

You might be able to notch the engine support bar a bit, for clearance.

I had to do this with my most recent header and found a few other examples on google for various header muffler combos...IIRC, sidewinders, etc.

Sounds like your talking about the same issue I have. I have that Berg bar and am running an A1 sidewinder.
You can do as Neil has suggested (not sure how it would compromise the strength of the bar) or, I spoke to Tiger at A1 and he will mod the muffler to fit (shipping cost just makes it cost prohibitive).
