Fuel tap tool NOT needed, made one myself!
« on: May 29, 2011, 09:22:44 AM »
I'm trying to refurbish my old gas tank fuel tap and the manual shows a specific tool to take it apart. Looks like an open end wrench but has to fit into the slots on the tap. I might have to try and make something as I'm sure it's not a common item, unless someone has an old tool stash.
Thanks

so after a bit of brainstorming with some of the Strictly German guys today, came home and tried to do some fine dremel work on a cheap 11mm deep socket. We talked about an escution tool and how it worked, and the goal was to shave off enough of the sides and leave two sides to go in the slats of the tap. SUCCESS! Thanks guys for the ideas.
