There have been a few changes this year with new events added.

- AUGUST 15 -
AVR presents
the 9th Annual DVKK "Strip Show"

Starting off Friday afternoon @ AVR Import.

AVR Import Specialties is having an Open House Friday August 15th noon to 4pm.

Stop by for a BBQ, in store specials as well as a few last minute parts prior to racing.

We are located minutes from the Mission Park Raceway so stop by on your way to the 9th Annual DVKK "Strip Show" presented by AVR Import Specialties.

Then it's off to Mission raceway for the AVR sponsord "DVKK Strip Show"
(awards for the night drags will be given out at the Sunday event)
We will have a VW only lane, Stock motor Challenge, show n shin and more.

- AUGUST 16 -
9th Annual DVKK Breakfast

Join us Saturday, August 16th at Westminster VW for a full day of VW action. Enjoy breakfast, a Show & Shine and finish off the day with a cruise. Destination tbd.

Just a note to everyone who joins us for the DVKK BBQ on the sat night before the big event. This year we will not be hosting it as we have wanted to join the Momentum BBQ for some years now and this will be the first.

It will be held on Sat 6pm at the Old Momentum shop, The bbq is by donation to the food bank. Be sure to bring some canned food and get your Momentum sponsored Hot dog,chips and drink. This looks to be a huge event!! Come out and join us for a fun night as Air and Water unite!

17th Annual Great Canadian VW Show

Western Canada's largest VW event attracts some of the finest Stock and Custom VWs from around the Pacific Northwest, including many past and present Hot VWs and Ultra VW feature cars (18+ cars shot at past GCVW shows). Many new additions this year Live Band and DJ sets, new judged section and a couple more surprises . Check out www.gcvws.com for more info or pre-registration.

I was just looking through western Driver newspaper and didn't see a posting for the show. I would think to be a great place to list the show. They have a calendar of events throughout the summer/fall. It seems to be a well read paper. maybe for next year getting a spot on the calender would be beneficial.

Flight, rental and everything thing else but the hotel has been reserved. I had enough points to get the flight for free! Geoff, can you recommend for a nice hotel? I see one listed, any others?

a guy that contacted me via thesamba.com and i exchanged info about the great canadian 07 and he stayed at the best western chelsea on brunette ave in coquitlam. he said he was pretty happy with it and that it was close enough to everything that happens during the weekend.....

AVR Import Speciatlies is proud to be the title sponsor of the 9th Annual DVKK "Strip Show" at Mission Park Raceway on Friday August 15th. Hope to have a good turn out for the racing and get together at the track. Get you car out from the garage and come join the fun.

AVR Import Specialties will also be having an Open House prior to the racing at our Abbotsford store. AVR is convenietly located minutes from the track. If you are coming into Mission via the Trans Canada you will pass right by. Stop in for a BBQ and in store specials between 12 noon and 4 pm. Or maybe a few new pieces to lower your quarter mile time.

Just wanted to give you guys a heads up that the online prereg will be closing at 5pm on wednesday the 12th. There will still be prereg available at the Pancake breakfast at Westminster, but that will be the last chance before the show.

The weather is looking good for the weekend and we hope to see a lot of new and old faces through out the weekend.

For those of you who aren't familiar with the show.

This year will be better than ever. Three days of VW fun planned with the main event to be held at Town Center Park in Coquitlam, on Sunday, Aug 17th, 2008.

i just went to the pre registration and it does not allow you to enter any iinfo just what class and pay.
will you know who's car it is by the name or am i missing something

Hey Russ,

When you go through the shopping cart and paypal all the other info is generated. The exact year of your car will be filled out at the gate when you arrive.

I supported one of our sponsors on the weekened. I bought a new City Jetta from Westminster VW. Very nice commuter car. Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend the GCVW. Have a great time everyone!!!
