Wheel & Tire Forum / Re: Will this work
« Last post by Bruce on October 21, 2023, 01:44:11 AM »
does anyone know if you could fit a 16x7 wheel under the rear stock fender of a 74 super without problems (depending on offset of course)? the car' s back end has not been lowered.... yet!  What size tire would anyone recommend with this wheel?
If the offset (ET) is 50mm, it will fit with most tires you might want to use. A 225/50/16 will work.

Jaga has 7x16" wheels on the rear of his car. But since they have a small offset of 23mm, they stick out enough that he's limited in the size of tire he can use.  IIRC, he uses a 205/50/16.

When you fit very large tires, some trimming may be necessary. You might have to grind away a bit of the shock tower where the snubber hits. The two forward bolts connecting the spring plate to the trailing arm may touch the tire. Flip them around so the excess bolt length is on the inside. If they still interfere, you can take the TA off and countersink the holes to use a flat head bolt.  Don't waste your money on adjustable spring plates. The block where the adjusting screw is will foul with the tire.

Dropped spring plates are a SCAM. They don't do anything the makers claim.  The dumb thing is, you have to take off the stock spring plates to install them. If you're that far in, just put the stock ones back on at the height you want.

Anyone knows whether Dubberz still has a website?

Thanks.

The site has been down for a long time.  The group has moved to a facebook page under the same Dubberz name.
