ignition question
« on: April 26, 2008, 04:58:48 PM »
Car starts fine and everything but, when I got to shut it off it keeps running after I turn the key off....it starts running sh*tty and I have to stall it to kill the engine. Running full msd. 6al box, dizzy, wires etc.

What should I look for? Is something wired wrong or something?

Thanks guys!
Everything takes time

The first thing you need to do is completely remove the MSD box.
Then go through the remaining wiring, looking for obvious mistakes.
Use your test light or volt meter to measure the voltage at the black wire from the ign switch at the front.  Verify that the power goes on and off with the switch.

My car is doing the same thing (still running after turning off). Where does one find the proper diode?
Thanks,Brian.

SMI Electronics in Langley 201 & 64th, Radio Shack (The Source) should be rated at 1a/400v, one does come with most MSD systems.
