Classes This Year.
« on: July 19, 2006, 10:21:37 PM »
Im wondering wether its to late to add a class to the show or not.

I remember that  Sciroccos and Corrados were always put in the same class. which is not right as to the average person, any corrado will be hotter then the nicest scirocco.

In a concourse style show the nice scirocco may stand a chance.

I know personally that there are lots of early sciroccos hiding around that dont come out because they know theres no point fighting the CCC (corrado club of canada) which always makes a big appearence or all the other hot corrados that come out. Also the amount of corrados that show up every year proves that there is enough vehicles that enter to allow a separate class for sciroccos.

I also think there should be a class towards early Restored watercooled cars. there are also alot of people restoring mk1 sciroccos and rabbits that dont fit in a class paired with build 16V turbo 6-speed mk1s.

What kind of counts do you think these 2 classes would generate?

There needs to be a daily driver class for sure, it would help get the car count up and allow more people to be involved. Silas you got my vote in full custom though.

that's the way i was looking at it too.

the show is all about funtimes with loads of acvws and family & friends. to me, it isnt about winning awards, but i could see how some people with daily's or acvws that are a little rough around the edges would not enter because there just isnt a class for cars like that.

of course i fully support the gcvws, the dvkk, the bulliboys and all the volunteers and sponsers that put this show on so i'll enter regardless.

if they don't come to the show just because their afraid of losing to a newer car, then let them stay home!
whiners
they come for the wrong reason anyways

Maybe we can add a class next year, we have already added 5 new classes this year. We also have a few extra awards that we hand out to cars that deserve/ stand out.

Here here, I am entering the 72 with full awareness that it wouldn't win 4th place let alone 1st. Come for the day, come for the fun, come to see friends. Want to whine and snivel......stay home, you'll just try to ruin the day anyways.

GCVWS is going to rock like usual. I AM PUMPED FOR IT!!!
