s/s banana seat patina build (butter rat)
« on: June 20, 2012, 11:07:03 PM »
naming her  BUTTER RAT ... lol... i think you guys can figure out why !!

it's a 1975 (same as my beetle!!) simpsons 'n' sears banana seat super de-luxe made in w.germany.. at first i had thought it was a ccm mustang?.. picked her up a few days ago..orginal paint , seats been reupholstered ,  just need to remove the added on reflectors and need to get the right tires on, right now she has bmx style tires , going to get a pair of thinline white walls , might remove the fenders , need to sorce out a correct kickstand and maybe throw on a mirror!!.. tilt the ape handle bars forward and drop the seat as low as she goes.

this is the way she looked when i brought her home,.. after these photos i started detailing ..... stay tuned!!

Those three speeds did a lot of damage! You must not have jumped or crashed often seeing as you were able to have kids ;-)

Good gawd!, the painful flashbacks that shifter story envokes!, you'd be amazed how resilient some parts of the human body apparently are, I'd show you the scars but.........

I must have _just_ missed these as a kid. I can't be that much younger then you guys? BMX had kicked in by the time I was out of training wheels.

Speaking of BMX, I sure wish I still had my Kuwahara KE1. Looked like this but with a few mods.

Well sonny, it was a while ago. I got my Mustang bike in the early 60's when they first came out!

Remember as kids the factory Kuwee's with the red dot on the head tube were the shit. If you had the Appolo version you were just a poser. I myself was a Norco guy. Chromed Norco "Force Three" baby. Rode that bike everywhere.

If anyone knows of any KE1 Kuwahara's kicking around I'd like to fix one up again.

Memories! My first bike was a metallic green Deeley Deelite (as in Fred Deeley) with banana seat, sissybar and apehangers. When that got stolen I had the Raleigh Supercross and still have an affinity for British bikes with my Triumph Speed Triple...
