Door hinge repair and install
« on: April 08, 2015, 01:41:36 PM »
Hey everyone,

So just getting my oval ready for paint, and have a question. The drivers upper door hinge area is damaged and to repair it properly I may have to remove the hinge from the door (drilling out the rivets)
What is best to replace it with, are there rivets available or are guys just bolting them back in?

Rivets are avaliable....that's not the issue tho, trying to set them is! Originally they would have been crushed in a big press/jig. Standard practice is use the correct size bolt and nylock nut back together (might have to use button heads or modified bolts for clearance)
