Title: 6 Wire Signal Switch
Post by: hugecalves170 on December 20, 2007, 03:54:02 PM
Hi all,
I am the guy who bought Shanes 61 vert. I just received reproduction turn signal switch, as I had a mishap with the the previous one  . The new one I received came with nothing to distinguish any one of the 6 wires from another, aside from colors, which are different from the wires in the original one. Would it be safe to plug and play? I am a little gun shy right now, after the last wire melting incident! any suggestions? I have contacted the parts distributor, but have not heard anything back.

Do you have any book on VW.

I don't think the vert is all original wiring and probably has been changed to 12v.

Here (down) is a wiring example:

Hope that helps.

You may also call Shane and ask him if he remembers. He a very good guy and may point you in the right dirrection.

The only book I have so far is the Haynes manual,  just ordered the Bentley. Thanks for the link, you are right it is 12V. If I get really stuck I will give him a call.
