Wiper Motor Problem
« on: March 18, 2007, 04:46:00 PM »
I wasn't sure where to post this, i figured electrical was my best bet. So I'm Driving  home to chilliwack saterday and of course in abbotsford my wipers quit on the #1 in major down pour!! So i get home and fix the problem, The arm that goes onto the shaft had come loose, so I steal a circlip washer thingy from a carb rebuild kit, and throw it back together, now Today I was driving to the driving range and again my wipers quit, take the car home and find that the armature is stripped......

Anyways, What do you guys think I should do with this? Is it fixable or would it be best to just get a new motor? Could this be welded maybe?

Weld it and call it a day.
Or dremel out a split pin diameter of your choice into the arm shaft and drill the opposite end of the tooth to the motor and slap it together and it will never come apart again.........weld it.....and get another down the road.

Unfortuanatly the lil arm piece is aluminum:( i guess they can't be welded together then? I tryed JB weld but that didnt work
