Interior colors ??
« on: October 13, 2015, 01:08:26 PM »
I'm looking for some ideas,

On my Car I'm not going for an original stock look. Color will be a dark Jag Green

I have right now s light grey leather steering wheel and black Sparco r100 front seats.

I'm thinking of going with a one piece conversion tweed headliner and need door panels carpet and rear bench. Question is what looks best and won't make you claustrophobic in the car.

Not sure if I should go with a dark grey headliner black or light grey and mix it up a bit with black and grey door panels etc.

Or change the whole concept and go tan. Any thoughts or pictures of your headliners etc.

thanks for any ideas

Cheers Rene

interior colors are definitely a hard one
personally i like a uniform look, maby keep all the seats black, gray and black door panels and a gray headliner and carpet?
its really personal preference. I know your not going for a stock look but one thing to consider is if you plan on driving your car often is wolfsberg west makes a kind of OE style carpet and rubber mat set up that cleans really easy and i think looks good to, ive got wolfsberg carpet and rubber mats in my '60, i love them! they don't glue down or anything so its pretty cheep and easy to replace if they get messed up

its kind of hard to see but basically its carpet around the edges and a molded rubber mat that goes over the tunnel and pan sections

Thanks for the pictures and thoughts.

It is a hard one I love the look of tan leather in green cars but i can sure imagine that it is a job keeping it looking like that. The Carpet will have to be custom and I can't glue it in as i have Access panels on the tunnel that I'd still like to access. A Carpet kit like yours Kevin might be the way to go. with a set of Carpet Floor Mats on top. Easy maintenance is always a good thing. big thing is making it work and fit with all the tricks hidden in my car now lol.

I hate picking colours I originally was thinking a grey mix headliner so it won't give me that Claustrophobic effect but every time I see a green car with Tan. it just stands out Bamm. Its a colour combo that looks just great!! Could get old thought quite fast.

thanks for the thoughts though guys.

Ended up going with Lt. Grey Tweed headliner - so the car doesn't get a small feel to it.

For the rear seat bench a Graphite trim color vinyl and mixed Grey Tweed as the insert color. Probably going with a double stitch in dark green or Red instead of the cord.

Carpet isn't ordered yet neither are any door panels. As the Carpet might have to be custom made to fit. And the door panels are not yet in the budget lol and might have to do those myself. As well as the Dash. Carpet will probably be Salt and Peppercolor.

I love the look of Tan but it didn't win me over in the end!!

As long as you're pleased with it, that's all that matters!

Thanks Brian I hope it will turn out as I have it pictured in my mind hard to say picking such things out from pictures on a computer screen. Having Fabric samples sent over seas would have been over kill though. Thanks anyways for the pointers and opinions

Can anyone tell me is there any difference between a Sewfine seat pad or one bought through CIP it would save me the shipping and hassle of bringing it over the boarder. My seat cover is coming from Sewfine. I would imagine that they should be the same considering its for the same model and year right?
