Dellorto frds

One of my frds is having old age problems. The drivers side with the cantilevered out linkage (old cb setup) isn't returning all the way to idle most of the time. It has a slight notchiness when the butterfly shuts. Not the end of the world, but an annoyance. My first thought was shaft rebushing. When I took the carb off for a look, the shaft didn't seem to have undue play. What I saw was wear marks in the throttle bore where the butterfly would rest at idle. I tried to carefully polish them out, but didn't want to go too far and create new problems. No real change. The other carb seems fine; that carbs linkage doesn't put as much stress on things. Anyway, these things haven't been made for a long time but I really like them. I would be happy to buy a really good one, if there was such a thing hiding in someones basement. If not, would a presetup and jetted IDF 40 setup from Aircooled.net work on my pretty much stock 1600 t3 ? Down the road i forsee a bit bigger engine.  Thanks, Grant
