Fresh Post for Fresh Price, make great stocking stuffer!

1776cc type 3 case, with the necessary modifications to convert to a type 1 set-up. Complete engine with dual 36 Dells, brand new 009 dist., stock heads, crank etc. just bigger pistons/cyl. It is currently still installed in my 67, it can be heard running, and even taken for a run if you wanted too. Has header with single quiet pack muffler.

$1800

Good Luck with the sale

1800CDN for a turnkey 1776 is a heck of a deal - build one for less than 2500, I dare ya!

What is the milage? it isn't a good deal if you have to replace everything.

It doesn't need anything replaced, I drove this all summer with the only problem being an fuel line installation issue. If it needed rebuilding, I'd say so in the ad.
However, the exact milage is unknown to me, as I bought the longblock assembled and used.

F.T.R. the vet bills are paid, now I need to fund my vacation!

Okay. I could just tell ya some BS number, like most used parts sellers do, but I'm way to truthfull for that.

Perhaps, I'll keep it, and sell it for more money when someone NEEDS it.

I for one do not think you should doll up the motor. For one, a spran-can-sam overhaul always makes me raise my eyebrows. Rather see what I get for real not all pretty like. My second reason is that with such a pretty motor I think it would confuse people on what to look at, Matt's handsomeness or the pretty motor.

I think his price is fair. Do I think it is a smokin deal....no. But you are getting what you pay for from a guy that you know is not going to dick you around. Like pulling the heads and finding out you have a 1600 instead of a 1776 from that smokin deal you got at the swapmeet. We've seen this car run, we've seen this motor run around all summer long. Do you trust the same person with no face on the samba?? Like you ever see them again. Sometimes the fair deal is the one you want for reasons of peace of mind.

Just my 2 cents.

When I sell a used motor I prefer to leave them as I pull em, this way the buyer sees exactly how it looked...oil leaks and all... All I have to say is go build a mototr and then say a used engine is too high priced...  ;)

I wasn't trying to offend either.  It is hard to divvy up almost 2k for an engine that has unknown milage and may have been driven hard(No offence again). Yes it may run great but for how long? I am interested but for that much more again I could have a NEW engine. Anyway my 2c plus you probably will sell as you don't see too many 1776's for sale used. Good luck.

Any idea what letter code the case bears? Is it dual relief? How's the crank end-play? Also, it might help to check the compression, oil press., etc, and post the figures on the site. If I sell my van I'm seriously considering this motor.
