Wheels bolts too long
« on: July 29, 2011, 10:07:00 PM »
I ordered some new bolts to hold my new Rader wheels on and they are about 5 threads too long and fouling on the brake internals. What is the best way to cut them down?

I use a 4" grinder with a flapper disc.. once the correct length use the flapper wheel to clean up the last few threads and give it a slight taper. This will make them thread in nicely without cross threading.

That's what I was going to do, thanks for verifying. I also was planning on putting a nut on before I do this, usually makes it easier in the end.
