Plasic bushings in shift rod tunnel of 72 bus

I have a 72 bus and am currently trying to replace the bushings inside the shift rod tunnel I believe there are two of them what is the best way of installing these and do u have to pull the shift rod right out of the tunnel thanks

Yes, to get the rear one you must remove the engine/transmission and slide the rod back. The front can sometimes be done by removing the shifter and front rod and sliding the rod forward, no guarantee it'll come far enough forwards for the bushing to be exposed though.
