Title: Brake Lights Always On!
Post by: bwaz on August 05, 2006, 09:21:38 PM
Numerous problems down, one current one to go. Brake lights are always on. Just replaced all the wheel cylinders as the brakes were bad from sitting the last 22 years, but that didn't help the lights on issue. The master cylinder on the 68 convert has three switches on it. One in the middle for the test light on the dash, and the other two on either side are the brake light switches? I've trouble shooted, and found that it seems to be the front switch. I used my tester and found that the circut always has power passing through, pedal on or not. When I removed  that wire, the lights went off, and come on as expected when I push the brake pedal. Might it be the switch is ceased up or is it some other wiring issue? Thanks as always!

Sure sounds like you have a shorted out brake light switch.  You can just unplug it and run with one switch, the second one is redundant.  Or buy a new one.
