AEM fuel pumps, filters and Regulators has anyone any experience with them? Are they worth there metal or better off with aeromotive products? Any other suggestions for FI high pressure fuel pumps?

For EFI, the best pump you can buy is the Bosch 044. If its good enough for Porshe its good enough for me.

All those other high dollar pump are Big, noisy, and wear out real quick.

Cheers

Darren or Dave,

An tips on oil cooling for a2332cc t1

We're adding 2 48 pass coolers to my car right now big question is would a dry sump make sense or a waste of time and money making one work.

Or should just go with a catch pot and breather set up after the coolers??

I found this on shop talk

http://www.shoptalkforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=141653

Maybe a solution similar to this, but with a full flow case and electric pump so I can still use the serp. Belt set up that I'd like to use on my car.

Dave aka owdlvr your running a dry sump in your super. How does it work? Are you happy with it?

For the time being we'll go without a dry sump my thermostat will be under the driver side passenger seat and filter as it looks mounted on the rear Torsion housing. That should help keep our options open for adding a dry sump if needed at a later date.

For Fuel I'm leaning to the Bosch 044 and running 2 filters a pre filter and a filter after the regulator before the fuel rails on the engine.

Had a couple of hiccups along the way, but overall the system is running wonderfully. I have trouble getting the oil hot enough in spring/fall/winter, even with a good quality oil-termostate before the cooler. I manage the cooling manually via some different shaped air-dams in cooler weather. As far as wear and tear on the motor, bearings come out looking brand new after tonnes of miles, so I'm happy.

The CB pump is generally considered to not be big enough for daily-driving use, and would definitely be a problem with your oil cooler setup.

Dave in that case a bypass after the oil filter and placing the thermostat after the bypass would be a good idea. That way the oil still is filtered and circulated until it's warm. Then when the oil has temp. The thermostat allows the oil to circulate through the coolers. Just not certain how to close the bypass.

Could I do that with electric valves controlled by a temp sender? When sender says has temp that it opens the cooler  circulation valve and closes the bypass with a couple directional check valves to make sure it flows only one way.

Sounds almost too complicated. Simple is always better. Any ideas

Found this on Pelican Parts. I guess I'll put my idea onto paper and post it tomorrow to get some pointers on the idea that I have.

Thanks for your Help Dave, What oil pump are you running in your system. An additional electric?

Geoff picked up a fuel pump, I gave him the needed specs and on the rest I trust his judgement!

Just still stuck on the dry sump delema. Only place I see left to hide it would be in the nose / spare tire well.

Big question at the end of the day is do I really need one? Lots of pro's for it but is it really needed or is it again over kill. Well ok so far my whole build is over kill :-) but I'm lovin it.

I plan on putting it through its paces so it will be driven hard in the turns. Which is making me tend to a dry sump system.

With a check valve before the tank and a electric valve in the tank out line before the thermostat. Switched on ignition to give kind of pre oiling function using gravity.

Any thoughts? For or against the dry sump?

Thanks René

Or would a deep sump elevate most of the inherent problems of wet sump oiling?
Oil starvation by hard cornering, pressure drop off etc.
Because my car isn't that low a deep sump wouldn't / shouldn't cause ground clearance problems. Just added weight in the rear of the car.

Dry sumps are cool, like you say lots of pros but can be overkill.....I like over kill, if you haven't noticed hahaha.
I know what you need for this build!!! An accusump, dave has one on his car seems to do a great job at pre oiling. I just happen to know where a guy could get a brand new (silver) one with solenoid and clamp kit. pM me if you're interested?

I made a deal with Josh for a 2 Quart Accusump any Tips or tricks on plumbing it in Dave. It comes with an electric solenoid and brackets.
I was thinking of mounting it up over the transaxle and making an access panel from the back seat area to get to it. Running the switch off ignition with a reserve switch for service on the car so I can manually open and close it. And was thinking of adding a pressure sender in place of  the pressure gauge. So I can monitor whats happening there from the drivers seat.

Thanks for any help.

Cheers Rene
