« on: October 14, 2018, 04:03:00 PM »
I have a set of 5 stock wheels for my 64 Ghia, all in nice shape.Would I be better off painting or powder coating them? Will be done in black/blue white as per original. Thanks
what can possibly go wrong?                                                                     64ghia

powder coating is definitely more durable but you won't get the two tone finish locally here
so you could powdercoat them one colour then wet paint the second colour
powder coating will require you to stripping them completely down (sand blasting)
it all comes down to personal preference really

Thanks Russ, sounds like paint wins if I'm going with two colors.   Cheers  Mike

Russ powder coated mine the off white colour, and I had the outsides painted. they worked great!

I wanted a solid base coat that would be strong, and the whites are easier to match than the other colours on a two tone rim. I chose to do the white and add my car colour over the base. Just a personal preference for me
